Proof coins have been produced at the United States Mint in San Francisco since 1968. The standards applied to their production are among the most demanding in the world. For the years of available Proof Sets see the table below.
Only current year Proof Sets come directly from the U.S. Mint. Older proof sets may have changed hands many times and therefore will not always be in perfect condition. Proof sets made prior to 1968 came packaged in cellophane and in an envelope. Silver proof sets are also available from 1992 through current year. Call for prices.
